The power of journeys
As I went to bed last night, I took the time to take a look at my facebook page and noticed a notification up in the corner from one of my clients Betty Robinson replying to a facebook post that I just wrote yesterday about “Your fired.”

Below she replied:
– I am glad that you stayed in there for us; you found us the perfect home, and we thank you, Take a bow, you deserve it. Best of luck to you Chad.
It was a comment that I was honored to get. It was also a comment that brought me back in time and deeply moved me.
It’s one of the greatest benefits I get when working with my partners. It’s kind of this SECRET perk that never gets talked about in this industry.
It’s the power to emotionally connect…Not on a surface level but on a deep personal level.
You see on the surface you might think I just got them a house. But for me I was helping my grandparents buy a home. Harvey was just like my grandpa who I called “GP” and Betty was old school like my grandma “Laurna.”
Helping them was like living in the past with my grandparents. It rekindled the days of going to the river and fishing late at night for catfish. Or how my grandpa GP would say OK just like Harvey.
But the connection isn’t always something that is like that…
Sometimes it’s as simple as yesterday I saw a post from one of my partners Shanna on improvements that they have done to their front courtyard.
The funny thing about it is that the people that rented there before didn’t really want to leave the house. They even came back after they moved out and asked to see the improvements that my partners had done. (in a more butting in the way I have to say).
So I replied to her post that they may just stop by and take a peek. Which sparked a few more comments between us.
Having conversations like this is something I’ve never experienced before. Technology has changed so many things and given us the ability to stay in contact easily with one another. And that I’m thankful for…
It can be so easy to focus on the destination and yes that is something that we do with the Value Driven Approach. But I have found that it’s the journey and the relationships we build that helps us get there.
It’s those journeys that help take us back in time.
