A box of Roxy
Not long ago I wrote about having to put our dog Heinz down. After 20 years of always having a dog thing felt quite odd. We wanted to get another dog but weren’t in a hurry.
I have found out though that, that is usually when the best things fall into your lap.
As you can see from the picture above, we have a new addition to the family. We didn’t even have to go far to find her. She was just up the block from our house. Her name is Roxy. Also known as “Box of Roxy” sometimes for her foolish mistakes.
Which she makes a lot of. Especially when it comes to chewing on things. We’ve had the usual accidents in the house at first and we have had to set a few other boundaries. Like no laying on my bed.
Ohhh and we have had to make plenty of adjustments while we figured out her idiosyncrasies. We now have a plethora of toys. Bones are on hand to keep kids toys destruction at a minimal and we don’t leave her inside all alone. She has a nice kennel for that now. :)
But overall we have adjusted and she has brought a voice that was missing back to our home.
I’ve been adding a lot of things and making adjustments over the last 6 months in the business as well. It hasn’t been easy either. Like Roxy some of these things are new and have really stretched me.
Writing this post is just one of those things. It hasn’t been easy, and I know I’m not the best writer. So I thank you for staying with me. :) But I know as time goes on I’ll get better and better at it.
I’ve also taken to telling stories daily on Facebook as well. Most the writing there is different then what I post here. You probably also know I will have a podcast coming soon as well as opening a Impact Club in the future as well.
Because I have stretched, I have learned a lot from you my readers. I must say when you write, you hope that it impacts someone’s life. But you never really know if you are until you get a message from someone or have a conversation with them and they tell you.
As one person messaged me lately and said “your journey means a lot.”
I just wanted to let you know I enjoy your emails and thanks to all those that reply back.
We need to stretch sometimes in life. Sometimes we need to step into things we don’t want to do. The doors it’s opens though for you can be vast and full of change. They can not only bring something to you but to others as well.
That’s why our Value Driven Approach with our partners has worked so well. For so long the industry has been broken and in need of some adjustments. Ones that would not only put people first but help impact their lives as well.
So be encouraged and bring forth something new. You might be surprised what you find out when you step up, step out and unshackle your chains.
Then again you might just get a “box of Roxy.”
If you like what you read then please write back. Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
