Ahhhh What’s Up Doc?

I don’t know about you but life just seems to be getting faster and faster to me.  I can hardly keep track of the days of the week anymore. My time is more valuable now than ever with a pod cast in the works and a monthly newsletter that I will start to send out soon.

I value my time and the people I spend it with, but sometimes you don’t always get the choice of who you are going to share your time with.  Such was the case when I needed to see  my new doctor recently for my gout medicine.

I was not looking forward to this because my experiences have always been bad ones.  I hate making an appointment, showing up on time, waiting in a front room for a late doctor and then sitting in another room for another 30 minutes; to be seen by someone that takes 5 minutes to tell you something you already know.

Disgruntled as I was I set off to the appointment with a book in hand for the down time.  If I had to sit somewhere then I wasn’t going to be wasting my time. I was going to learn something.

And learn something I would.

I got to the office filled out my paperwork, handed it in and then began to read my book.

I was half way down the page when they called my name to come in.

Hmmmm This was a first.

The assistant took me in and did the usual.  Weighed me, took my blood pleasure and asked me a few questions.  Then she was off leaving me confined to the room.

I busted open my book again and began to read.  Half a page later the doctor walked through the door.

I about fell over.

In ahhhh I told the doctor that I had never been helped so quickly and efficiently before in a doctors office.  I said “doctors never value my time”.

He looked at me and said one of his goals there was always to be efficient of respectful of peoples time”.  He hated it when people waist his time so he tries not to waist anyone else.

I have to say I was impressed.

Not only was he efficient on time but he went over things more about the management of my gout.  I knew a lot about it since it runs in my family, he still was able to shed some light on things for me about it.

Before I knew it he was off and told me a nurse would be in to do some blood work.

So I opened my book again and….

Well of course you guessed it.  The nurse came in to go get it done.  All in all I spent about 20 minutes from start to finish.

What a overwhelming feeling it is to deal with someone who respects your time.

Bruce Lee once said “If you love life, don’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of.”

Bruce with his short life here on earth knew all to well that time is short and you have to capitalize on what you have while you are here.

Lessons like these allow me to reflect on how I can help my clients and better serve them and their time.

Nobody has the right to waist your time or your money.

It is something we can never get back and it should be highly guarded.

That’s why I have a documented approach to helping my clients with real estate.  I respect and value their time.

Just like the doctor with the documented approach  you get a well oiled machine and a step by step approach.

Which is important because you have several moving parts in every transaction from the realtor, to a finance person to a title person as well.

If you don’t have people that respect your time and process like Liz Korn who does finance and a Deb Rogers who does your title work then the whole experience can always feel screwed up like it has been for me all these years.

My goal is for you to never feel that way.

I want you to have a experience of a lifetime like I had at my doctor.

If you like what you read then please write back.  Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
