A Speck In Time

A Speck In time

As I get older I realize that’s all I am in the cycle of time.

Age seems to bring that on.

So does fear of losing your life.

Recently I have been having some health issues for over a month.

I’ve been light-headed, my equilibrium was off, I was low on energy and not feeling well.

I never get sick so I figured I’d ride things out.

Then one day while sitting at my computer my vision started to blur.

In the lower corner of my eye, it felt like I was looking at things as if I was underwater.

I rubbed my eyes, took a moment to close them, I even laid down.

I started to panic. Finally, after about thirty minutes it went away.

I’m not one to go to doctors often but I picked up the phone and set an appointment.

It didn’t take long for the bad thoughts to settle in.

What if it’s a tumor? Is it some kind of disease? What if they can’t cure it?

I even checked in on my life insurance.

I was scared, to say the least.

My doctor did a ct scan. Everything came back good.

I had a freaking sinus infection. I’ve never had one of those before.

Can you believe it? I was going off the deep end for that?

It was a wake-up call but it brought a lot of things into perspective for me.

Our time here on earth is but a speck in time. One that would take a telescope to see.

We’re not here just to exist.

God has a purpose for everyone.

That purpose starts in the home.

Whether it’s teaching values to your children or honoring your spouse.

Maybe you are taking care of your parents or adopted a child.

Some of the greatest companies have come from the garage or basement of a home.

All to often I think of it as a place where I live. It’s so much more.

It’s the place where dreams and memories are born.

How we make them is up to us. Some of us have more time than others to make that happen.

All our time is limited though so make it count.

We are but a speck in time.
