Homeless With Faith
Good morning.
If you read my last post, you know that it was my anniversary. Which brought back memories of when I first met my wife.
It took a lot of faith for me to get the courage to talk to her back then.
But that’s what faith is all about. Putting yourself out there when you don’t know what’s going to happen.
I’m always amazed by people that had nothing but faith in themselves.
Ralph Lauren is one of those people. Ya, he is the salon guy that you see on TV from time to time.
Ralph Lauren is now worth over 1 Billion dollars. But it wasn’t always that way.
Ralph was actually homeless at the beginning of building his company. Living out of his car. Going door to door selling his shampoo product.
Times were tough, but his faith in himself kept him going. So much so that he now has the ability to give back in ways never imaginable.
In 2017 he bought an island that had a population of 1400 people that were banned from fishing off their island. Which provided their living and income.
Knowing that they had no way to make a living he then built a resort that will employ 700 people from the island.
It’s amazing where faith can take you.
Which was the case with Sarah Blakely. You may also know her as the founder of SPANX.
At the time before SPANX she was selling fax machines. But she believed in her product and herself. After sending products to Oprahs for years, she finally used them. Mentioning her on her show. The rest was history.
Going down a path that is less traveled is not easy. Most often you‘re questioned and looked at differently. Its faith inside you that keeps you going.
It’s the same faith I stepped out on when I was tired of how things are taught in the real-estate industry of SELL SELL SELL. Grind it out and chase people down.
I used it to come out with the Documented Approach of doing business the right way. Going as far to co-author a book The Value Driven Approach To Sell Real Estate in a broken industry.
I wish I could tell you it’s been all peaches and cream since doing it. But it hasn’t. It takes time to build things up when you go the other direction to make things better.
It’ takes faith.
The same faith that lead me to my wife. Something that is above all else.
