It Changed My Life
It Changed My Life…
Yesterday I talked about on Facebook how a piece of advice changed my life. “Get out of the business” Steve my old car manager told me 22 years ago.
That advice has always stuck with me. It took me 20 years to follow it. It was good advice but something that took me to long to follow.
I’d like to share with you some things I see myself coming on the horizon which a lot of people don’t think about.
Recently I was reading in Forbes about AI (artificial intelligence) and how it is changing our world. The simple fact is a lot of jobs are going to be eliminated over time. A lot of them in the near future.
Here is a list of things that you are already seeing here in Arizona.
–Driverless cars
–Payment systems (Sams scan and walk out payment app)
–Cashier
–Restaurants
–To name a few
This isn’t to scare anybody but to make you aware like Steve did for me that changes are coming in the near future.
Now you have the advice… what do you do?
That’s the big question. You have a few options.”
Nothing and hope you never lose your job
Figure out how to find a niche in your job that nobody has done.
Piggyback and join a company that is redefining how things are done. (I did this.)
Build a business on the side that is all your own. That way you have a backup income. (I’m doing this as well.)
One of the people I follow James Altucher post these ways to make $2000 in a weekend.
I mentioned above that I myself have had to make adjustments. One of them being the List It or Flip It the program I am doing for clients.
The other is branching out and building a team of realtors nationwide. Something that hasn’t really been available before. But with technology, things are changing and I have to change with it.
One thing for certain that will never change for me is the level of service that can be provided by me.
I don’t know anybody whose industry isn’t prone to change. That’s why the Value-Driven Approach to helping you will never change.
I’ve always believed that if you treat people right relationships will always win. Sometimes you just have to adapt how you do that.
Have a great day.
