It pays to…

Today is the first day off of the 21 days Daniel fast that my wife and I did.

If you’re not familiar with a Daniel fast it’s an all-vegetable Biblical fast.

Ya, no meats, no coffee, no ice cream and everything else. That’s just craziness.

Twenty-One days without all the amenities. That’s just craziness. So it would seem.

My wife and I just completed it. Today is the first day off of it. And yes I’m enjoying a cup of coffee this morning.

I thought it was going to be bad. I thought I was going to have all these crazy cravings. But you know what? I didn’t.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I actually enjoyed it. Why?

Because my wife was prepared for it. The old adage goes “Preparation is the separation.”

My wife had every meal planned out. Every night dinner was prepared and on point.

Because of that, everything went really well. My perception of vegan life has totally changed. All due to preparation.

I was reading an article the other day about how Matthew McConaughey stays at the time of his game. He was being interviewed by Sports Centers Scott Van Pelt. Scott asked him this question:

“I have a word written down on this card,” Van Pelt said.“And that word is craft. With every accomplished person I encounter — athlete, coach, actor, businesswoman, whatever, there is this idea of ‘owning one’s craft.’What’s your process as it relates to that?”

Matthews reply.

“For me, the question is, ‘how do I look forward to Monday morning?’ How do I brush off complacency and make sure that I’m scared enough about going into work? How do I look at my preparation in a way that makes me uncomfortable?”

He continued …

“My job is to show up to work with an arsenal, loaded and ready. To the point where the director can throw anything at me and I’m going to dance with it and we’re going to play,” he said.

“Like most things, the real work comes before making the movie. The work is done in the offseason. The work is the three months leading up to the shoot, wondering what the hell I am going to do with the role. By the time I’m in the ring and I hear the ‘ding, ding, ding,’ I’ve done my work. It’s all instinct at that point.”

This reminded me of another quote “When opportunity knocks it’s too late to prepare.”

That’s why I’m always looking for ways to fine tune the Value Driven Approach.

It’s critical that I am always prepared for my clients. If done properly then the battle of obtaining higher profits has already been won through properly executed preparation.

I mentioned it a few emails a while back but that’s also why the Value Driven Approach is getting a facelift (VDA 2.0).

This newer version is diving deeper into how we can scientifically increase our partner’s profits on every sale.

Something I know that 99% of other agents out there never offer. That’s why working with them feels like your on a fast.

Verse working someone that’s prepared… Everything becomes a blast.

Spring is quickly coming up and before we know it summer. This jus just enough time to get a home prepared for value-driven results. Due to the amount of time that we invest into each of our projects, we typically only have the capacity to work with four clients at a time.

If you’re thinking about selling in the near future let me know.  I’ll send you a book package of Value Driven Approach and we can schedule a time to meet to see if your home meets our “list it or flip it” criteria.
