Nothing But Noise
I started meditating 4:30 in the morning here recently. It’s been one of the best things I ever did.
I use these headphones that my father in law gave my kids for their gaming system. These things are great.
When you put them on it, feels like all the noise of the world disappears. Everything gets quiet, and a sense of peace comes over me.
I feel like I’m in a whole new place. No distractions. Just space and me.
I feel like I get a lot more done every day when I feel my world is quieter.
Recently I have been having back issues. Which has lead to me having headaches. So this morning I decided to try going to Starbucks to write. Something I never do.
I brought those headphones in with me. The place is always busy. The machines making noise in the background. People rushing in and out trying not to be late to work.
It’s actually a terrible place to go if you don’t want distractions. But my neck has been killing me so there I was this morning. Sitting there with all this noise going on.
So I decided to throw on the headphones. Ones that go over your ears. Why? So that people won’t bother me. Two it blocked all the noise out.
It was like I was in my own special place. My focus came to me. My thoughts began to get organized. The noise was being pushed out.
In the zone, I started to write my daily FB post.
The a/c kicked on there and I started freezing. So I came back to my house to finish this one.
The thing I realized though was that all too often our world is full of noise. So much noise things that are good inside us can’t even get out.
Real estate is like that. A lot of noise is always going on.
As a partner, my job is to help keep that noise out. Such as clarity in negotiations, handling inspections, finding repair men and anything else that comes about. That’s what a Value Driven Approach is all about.
Buying or selling a home should be like meditating. It’s about enjoying the things in life and keeping the noise out.
Have a great week.
