What’s In The Sauce?

I was reading a friend’s Eric Verdi email the other day on FREE BEER. Well, that’s what the sign said at a bar of a show he was watching. Something most people would take advantage of.

This sign later related to an email that he got from another realtor. Below is a copy of that email.

Hi Anthony & Susan,

This past Thursday (August 30th) I had sent out an email wishing you a fantastic Labor Day Weekend. In that email I also mentioned I was picking up the tab for ALL DINE IN ORDERS at Clean Eatz in Murrells Inlet on Friday August 31st. I wanted to treat you and your family to a tasty meal to start the Holiday off right! Unfortunately, our email servers were delayed in processing some of the messages. As a result, a few of the messages were not delivered until AFTER the Holiday Weekend.

Let’s smooth out that email delay with some FREE treats

From today through Saturday (September 8th) at 3pm mention # JxxxxxLxxxxRealEstate at Clean Eatz in Murrells Inlet to receive a FREE Smoothie courtesy of Jxxxxx Lxxxx ( Clean Eatz is open from 11am – 7pm Monday through Friday and 11am – 3pm on Saturday. From today through Saturday (September 8th) at 5pm mention # JxxxxxxLxxxxRealEstate at Incredibl e Edibles Café and Custom Bakery in Pawleys Island to receive a FREE Locally Roasted Organic Coffee courtesy of Jxxxxxx Lxxxx ( Incredible Edibles is open from 8am – 5pm Monday through Saturday and is located at 10126 Ocean Hwy, Pawleys Island, SC 29585. Next to Get Carried Away the home of Palmetto Cheese – The Pimento Cheese with Soul!)

Sounds pretty good right? He was going to buy everyone dinner. But he made a mistake and would make it all up. You can’t beat that.

Well, my buddy, Eric isn’t one to be fooled and upon getting the email the skeptic in him came out. So being a tech-savvy guy. He scrubbed his emails for this guy to see if anything bounced or if he had ever had contact with him.

The result was…NOPE!

The email was all a sales ploy to get him to come to see this other realtor. Another bait and switch tactic.

It never ceases to amaze me what other people are willing to do to get business.

People are always looking for some secret sauce in things. Matter of fact I wrote about this the other day on Facebook about it. You can check it out here if you like.

At the end of the day, we are creators of what we want to make. Just like any recipe that you follow.

You can choose to use high-quality ingredients that bring out the best meal ever. Or you can substitute everything with synthetic products and bank on Mcdonald results.

It’s there you’ll find that the ingredients do matter and there’s no secret to the sauce.
