Built Over Time

Good morning.

“We have over 30,000 agents that use us” is what the lady said on the other side of the phone as she tried use a sales bully tactic on me.

This was after I had already told her that I probably know more about using FB ads then what they do, having spent years doing it with my other businesses.

That’s when she went into her boastful “we have 30,000 agents using us.”

Wow, I mean who cares right. It doesn’t mean that it is actually working. I mean tons of people have web sites, but it doesn’t mean they are visited in any kind of capacity every day. They just exist and don’t do much.

I know that these people are just doing their job but how about instead of telling me about how great they are, they try to really connect with me. Show me who you really are and how you are different then everything else out there.

Show my why you’re not some new thing designed just to make money off of me.

This type of disease of getting business has infected so many companies these days. Managers give people a script with a auto dialer that calls multiple people at a time and then they begin to throw out the canned speech.

You can always tell because they say your last name wrong like “hello is Mr Denk there” They forget the E and you know it’s a sales call.

It reminds of a good saying I heard not to long ago:

Pros Focus on Relationships… Amateurs Focus on Sales

It’s called “cold calling” for a reason.

No relationship… Just another sale…

That’s why I always write stories to you. I look forward to connecting with people. Especially when I’m being invited over for barbeque, Mexican food or whatever else is cooked. If is my goal to help make an impact in your life. I learned long ago that you just never know who might impact with your stories.

As was the case when I heard from another person the other day on one of my Facebook posts about addiction.

She said, “just wanted to reach out and let you know that I support you in your daily decision! I’m always terribly deeply excited and impressed that people can do what my own brother refuses to do. BTW I appreciate your public sharing, too!”

That’s why I write, that’s why I try to make a Impact. I’m simply looking to partner with people that say “I like this guy. I like the way this guy thinks. I believe what he believes.” Or you may say “Ok I know how Chad thinks and I don’t think he is a fit for me.”

Not everyone is ever going to like you. It’s just human nature. But I’m ok with that. I write you my partners. Any relationship worth keeping is one that is built over time.

What’s your opinion. Send me a email and let me know. 🙂
